Welcome to Sir George Simpson On behalf of all staff members, it is my pleasure and honour to welcome you to École Sir George Simpson Junior High School. Sir George Simpson offers a very diversified learning environment and we truly find our strength in our diversity. It is my belief that each and every one of us has different gifts and talents, to be shared with the school and the community. It is in this spirit that we will continue to strive to promote success in all areas: academic, athletics, sports, extra-curricular, literacy, fine arts and music. This coming year, one goal shared by all staff members, will be to complement our excellent academic programs with a renewed character education program. Over the course of the year, all students will be given the opportunity to learn about six virtues identified as the “Bear Spirit”: These virtues are Courage, Determination, Enthusiasm, Respect of Self, Respect of Others, and Sharing. Through school assemblies, incentive programs, writing contests, literature and other exciting activities, students will be invited to “make a difference” by exemplifying these virtues. I invite all students and parents to check the website and our school newsletter on a regular basis to find more information about this program.
